Product Features

Remove the Disc Without Draining Your Pipeline
Standard butterfly valves need full line shutdown for disc replacement. You drain kilometers of pipe. You lose water. You lose revenue. Our retractable valve pulls the disc out of the flow path. The body stays in the line. The pipeline stays full.

No Need to Remove the Valve Body
The retractor mechanism pulls the disc and stem assembly out of the body. The body remains bolted between your flanges. You do not break flange connections. You do not lift heavy valve bodies. Maintenance takes hours, not days.

Perfect for Large Diameter Mains
A DN1200 butterfly valve weighs over 800 kg. Removing the body requires cranes and rigging. The retractable version lets you pull a 150 kg disc assembly. One person can handle it with a small hoist. No crane needed.

Quick Seat Replacement Without Disturbing Piping
The seat seals against the disc and the body. When the disc retracts, you access the seat. Replace it in minutes. No flange bolts to loosen. No pipe movement. No realignment.

Available in Wafer, Lug, and Flanged Bodies
Wafer type for lowest cost and compact fit. Lug type for end-of-line service. Flanged type for high-pressure or frequent maintenance. Choose what fits your piping system.

Ideal for Pump Stations and Treatment Plants
These locations have many large valves. Downtime is expensive. Retractable valves let you service one valve while the rest of the plant runs. Spare disc assemblies allow quick swap and repair offline.

Core Selling Points

Manual Retractor for Small and Medium Sizes (DN50–DN600)
A threaded stem pulls the disc back. Turn the retractor handwheel. The disc moves 10-20 mm out of the seat. Simple. Reliable. No hydraulics.

Hydraulic Retractor for Large Sizes (DN700–DN1800)
Large discs need more force. Our hydraulic retractor uses a hand pump. Generate up to 20 tons of pulling force. Move the disc 30 mm out of the flow path. One person operates the pump.

Position Indicator Shows Disc Status
You see three positions: Closed (disc in seat), Open (disc rotated 90°), and Retracted (disc pulled back). No guessing. No accidental operation.

Same Face-to-Face Dimensions as Standard Valves
Retractable valves fit where standard valves fit. No pipe modification needed. No special flanges. No longer face-to-face dimension. Direct replacement for standard butterfly valves.

Application

Raw Water Intake Lines – Debris damages discs over time. Retract and replace without draining the intake structure.

Water Treatment Plant Outlet Pumps – Large pumps need large valves. Maintenance can wait for plant shutdowns. Retractable valves allow disc changes during pump rotation, not full plant shutdown.

Seawater Cooling Systems – Salt water corrodes discs and seats. Stainless steel discs eventually pit. Retractable valves let you replace worn discs without taking the system offline.

Power Plant Cooling Water – Critical systems cannot shut down for long. Retractable valve maintenance takes 2-4 hours. Full body removal takes 1-2 days.

Pump Station Discharge Lines – Many pumps in parallel. One pump goes down for valve maintenance. The others keep running. Retractable valve makes this practical.

Desalination Plants – High-pressure membranes need isolation valves. Retractable valves on both sides of each membrane bank. Service one bank while others produce water.

Paper Mill Process Lines – Abrasive stock wears out seats quickly. Retractable valves allow frequent seat changes without production stops.

How the Retractable Valve Works

Step Action
1 Close the valve fully (disc in seat position).
2 Open the retractor handwheel (or pump hydraulic unit).
3 Thread pulls the disc and stem assembly axially 10-30 mm.
4 Disc moves out of the seat. Clearance opens between disc and seat.
5 Remove the top flange cover or actuator.
6 Lift the disc and stem assembly out of the valve body.
7 Replace seat, disc, stem, or gaskets as needed.
8 Lower the disc and stem assembly back into the body.
9 Close the retractor handwheel. Disc moves back into seat.
10 Valve is ready for normal operation.

Accessories

Manual Retractor Handwheel – Standard for DN50-DN600. Turn clockwise to retract. Counter-clockwise to close. Position indicator on top.

Hydraulic Retractor Unit (Hand Pump) – For DN700-DN1800. Hand pump generates up to 700 bar. Two hoses connect to retractor cylinder. Pressure gauge shows retraction force.

Hydraulic Retractor with Electric Pump – For frequent retraction (quarterly maintenance). Push-button operation. No hand pumping. Builds pressure faster.

Spare Disc and Stem Assembly – Keep a spare on-site. When valve needs service, swap the assembly. Send the worn assembly for repair offline. Zero downtime.

Seat Replacement Kit – Includes new seat, o-rings, and gaskets. Pre-packed for your valve size. Store in maintenance shop.

Top Cover with Inspection Port – Clear plastic or glass port. See the disc and seat condition without opening the valve.

Extended Retractor Stem – For valves buried in deep pits. Operate the retractor from ground level. Stem length custom-made.

Performance Testing

Hydrostatic Shell Test (Body Only) – Fill body with water. Pressurize to 1.5x rated pressure. Hold for 60 seconds. No leaks through body casting or retractor seals.

Seat Seal Test (Low Pressure Air) – Close valve. Apply 0.6 bar air pressure to one side. Submerge in water. No bubbles for 60 seconds. ISO 5208 Rate A.

Seat Seal Test (High Pressure Water) – Close valve. Apply 1.1x rated pressure water. Measure leakage past seat. Zero leakage for soft seat. Acceptable minor leakage for PTFE seat.

Retractor Function Test – Cycle retractor open and closed 10 times. Measure travel distance. Verify smooth operation. No binding. No leaks past retractor stem seal.

Pull-Out Force Test (Sample Valve per Size) – Install disc and stem assembly. Retract fully. Measure force required to pull assembly out. Must be ≤ rated retractor capacity.

Repeatability Test – Retract and close 50 cycles. Check seat seal after cycles. No degradation in sealing performance.
